Adam Bogusz
Born in Melbourne in 1971, Adam Bogusz has been surrounded by creative activity from about the age of four. He would sit for hours and watch his father - well-known Richard Bogusz - paint. He learnt quickly that tubes of paint were not toys. Adam began painting full-time in 1998, and his early works, rich in vibrant colours displayed a dramatic quality, conveying a range of emotions and attitudes. He has exhibited successfully in Queensland, both in mixed and joint showings with other artists, with his father as well as solo.
Adam's work is bright and modern, featuring movement and colour reminiscent of his formative years in North Queensland, with a somewhat abstract feel to the compositions.
Adam perceives his paintings as a personal diary in which he records and works through his own experience and feelings.
Secondly Adams wants to capture the viewer's attention with an image that pleases, yet puzzles.
Thirdly, he wants his work to go beyond the purely decorative to reveal the reality beyond the appearance of our everyday lives and experiences. In this attempt there is an inevitable overlapping of the three parts that Adam believes revealing a dialectical method between him and the social world he inhabits.
